Constitution Information Session

The Board of MLSA wish to propose amendments to the LASA Inc Constitution to correct several outdated or inconsistent elements.

This event is designed to allow members to ask questions and discuss the proposed changes with Board representatives and the MLSA CEO. 

BACKGROUND:

The MLSA has recently undertaken a comprehensive review of the current constitution as part of our commitment to good governance, via which we identified improvements.  These proposed changes have been identified by the Board, staff and via the engagement of DMAW Lawyers. 

None of the changes proposed affect in any way the present governance structure of the MLSA or the stated objects of the association. 

The MLSA continues to be committed to good governance and transparency and as such, we encourage you to view the proposed “LASA Inc Constitution 2023”, along with a detailed description of the changes to the Association’s constitution in the accompanying document titled “Overview of Proposed Constitution Amendments ”.

Once you are ready to cast a vote on the adoption of the proposed constitution, please cast your vote HERE.

VOTING PROCESS:

1. Notice is provided to members of the 2023 Annual General Meeting & President's Dinner.
2. Members are invited to record their support or disapproval of the proposed constitutional changes via an online poll HERE. 
3. To support their decision, members are invited to attend the Constitution Information Session on 20 September 2023.
4. Annual General Meeting will be held on 11 October 2023.  Members present will vote on the special resolution 'That the Association’s constitution be repealed and a new constitution based on the document titled “LASA Inc Constitution 2023” be adopted in its place.'

NOTE: Voting is only open to full and life members.
